Welcome to Postcredit ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information when you use our website and services.

2. Information We Collect

• Account Information: When you register via Google or Email, we collect your email address, name, and profile picture (if provided by the OAuth provider).
• User Activity: We store data regarding the movies and TV shows you mark as watched, your ratings, your lists, and your comments.
• Imported Data: If you use our Import tools (IMDb or Traktarr), we process and store the file contents to populate your history.
• Technical Data: We may collect standard server logs, IP addresses, and browser type for security and rate-limiting purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain your user profile and watch history.
• Generate statistics about your viewing habits.
• Allow you to interact with other users (via comments and public lists).
• Prevent abuse and ensure the security of the platform.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate the platform:

• Better Auth: For secure authentication and session management. Your credentials and session data are stored securely in our own database.
• Google Analytics (GA4): We use Google Analytics to collect aggregated, anonymized usage metrics (such as page views, visitor country, and browser type) to help improve platform performance.
• Google Drive (Optional): If you choose to enable the Google Drive Backup feature, Postcredit requests limited permission solely to create and sync your personal backup file in your own Google Drive. We do not access, view, or modify any other files in your Google Drive.
• The Movie Database (TMDB): We use the TMDB API to fetch movie and TV show metadata and images. We do not transmit your personal account or viewing data to TMDB.
• Cloudflare: We use Cloudflare for content delivery (CDN), DNS routing, and DDoS security protection.
• Google Gemini (AI): We use Google's AI services to analyze movie metadata to identify post-credit scenes. No personal user data is sent to AI models.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies to maintain your login session and security tokens. In addition, Google Analytics uses standard first-party cookies to measure website traffic and user journeys in an aggregated manner. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

6. Data Portability and Deletion (GDPR)

You have full ownership of your data:

• Export Data: You can export your entire watch history, ratings, and lists at any time in JSON format.
• Delete Account: You can permanently delete your account at any time via Settings in the Danger Zone. This permanently deletes all your personal data, ratings, lists, and comments from our database.

We may update this privacy policy periodically to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. The updated version will be indicated by the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
