Yong Soon Min was an artist, curator, and educator whose multidisciplinary practice addressed issues of colonialism, diaspora, and the intersections between memory and history. She received three degrees at UC Berkeley, where she met Cha. Min was an active member of the Asian American artist community in New York throughout the 1980s and 1990s, participating in such organizations as Godzilla: Asian American Arts Network and the Asian American Arts Alliance. Her works in photo montage, video, and installation respond to anti-Asian racism, Cold War politics and the continued division of Korea, and the violence of imperialism.
