Germán Guevara is a pioneer of cinema in the Peruvian interior, where filmmaking has experienced a significant boom since the second half of the 1990s. The so-called "Regional Cinema Boom" has spread to other parts of Peru, including Puno, Huancayo, Cajamarca, Iquitos, Andahuaylas, Arequipa, and Trujillo. In total, around 150 films have been produced in approximately 15 years, and the trend continues to grow.
