Tom Murray is an Australian documentary writer, director and producer, and the founding director of the Creative Documentary Research Centre at Macquarie University. His films have screened at international film festivals and been recognised across the film, television, radio and audio industries. His work is interdisciplinary, engaging with the history of colonialism, Indigenous culture and knowledge systems, environmental history, ethics and reciprocity, and inter-cultural storytelling. A recipient of the Max Crawford Medal, awarded to early career humanities scholars in Australia, he has also worked as a consultant to state film funding agencies and international media organisations across Australia and the Pacific.
