Trained in China's national martial arts team along with future action star Jet Li, Huang was a shooting star in the Chinese celluloid who only appeared in two films between 1985 and 1986, both involving the Shaolin Temple. Martial Arts of Shaolin, helmed by none other than the master Lau Kar-leung, was an acclaimed blockbuster at the time.
